37signals attacks the idea of "offline" apps
I just watched the Decline of Western Civilization on IFC. The movie is about the 80′s MTV Heavy Metal Big Hair generation. Well in this one part they’re interviewing this famous guy in some band that I totally forgot the name of. Anyway he’s in his pool getting interviewed, he’s drinking Vodka, I mean, pouring Vodka down his throat screaming about how he loves to drink and his MOM is sitting on the side of the pool not saying anything and you know she’s got her hand on the phone waiting to call 911 when he starts drowning in the pool again.
Well this article that 37 Signals wrote up is kinda like that. You know, those guys that fueled that other bubble called web 2.0? They’re pissed at applications like Apollo and Flex are in the limelight.
